You are absolutely correct. I hate fb, don’t use it, won’t use it and have found other ways to track down family/friends to get and stay in touch.
I block their preinstalled garbage apps from my electronics in addition to their cookies and spy icons. Same with google which is even worse.
I am a block head about Twitter and that other one you asked about. I never heard of it.
However, goofy parents and grandparents expose details, photos of their innocent kids, times and places, and think FB is one big party. These are deadly times.

It’s scary the sort of Orwellian speech/thought-controlled world the left is trying to force us into.
About a week ago, I did my quarterly blast about only the stupid use Facebook.
Then, like the sun rises in the East everyday, I was blasted for posting the reality of Facebook. That reality, FB is not a friend of Americans and most of us on this site. FB is pro open borders and pro Obama/Clintoon.
Whatever you share on there is limited to whoever you want to see it. You can even limit to just one person. It’s not just on display in a shop window. If you know how to use FB it’s quite private. Unless it’s the FB employees themselves that you are afraid of.
I write much cruder tunes. I do use a roland guitar synth, just not on this one.

If you install the app on your smartphone, as soon as you sign in to FB with it, the app uploads all the contact info from your phone book.
All the contact info.
The phone numbers of your mistresses on your phone? FB knows you know them.
Your siblings who refuse to be on FB? If you have their contact info in your phonebook on that phone, well FB now know about them and that you are somehow connected to them.
It's naive to think social media only has what you post on it and nothing else.
It has more on you than you care to know.

The Sync functionality has to be enabled. It’s in the settings of your phone under the Facebook setting. Facebook needs permission to access anything on your phone.

What do you mean by ‘safe’. The Facebook mods are notoriously censorious. Hence stuff like this. This issue has nothing to do with safety. It’s about Facebook’s inconsistent content policing policy.

You can accomplish the same thing with your own family website. FB is not needed.
