s the job market for professionals unraveling?
The jobs data in the US has recently taken a nasty spill. Last week it was an ugly jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It could bounce off next month, and the current data could be revised higher, but were not seeing the signs of this sort of hiring momentum.
Instead, were confronted with a sharp and ongoing deterioration of a leading indicator of the labor market: temporary jobs. They rise and fall months ahead of the overall number of jobs. The sector peaked in December 2015 at 2.94 million. It shed 21,000 jobs in May, and 63,800 since December. This is also what happened in 2007 and 2000, at the eve of recessions
...
This week, it was the Feds very own Labor Market Conditions Index which dropped to the worst level since the Financial Crisis, a level to which it typically drops shortly before the onset of a recession and shortly before employment gives way altogether. It still could bounce off as it had done in early 2003, but it better do so in a hurry:
...
online jobs postings have been in decline since February. May was by far the worst month since January 2009, down 285k from April and down 552k from a year ago.

a reflection of overall hiring activity and should be considered a check on demand vibrancy.
And the report frets that further deterioration could trigger a revenue shortfall in the second half.

I’m just speaking from personal experience, but I am travelling now after working at a major company for 20 years, because the company is sending jobs overseas.
That is why I have been 100% for Donald Trump. Big time. He’s the only person saying we need jobs right in the USA.
He’s the only one. Anywhere.
Scary chart but it exposes the reality behind the .gov numbers scam The One keeps running.
Not even Sally Satchelbottom in her DC cubicle can dress up the train wreck any longer.
caveat: LinkedIn SUCKS! They recently changed their TOS in ways making them very unappealing to employers.
Job seekers are far too dependent upon the internet, recruiters and websites like LinkedIn. They are an island from which people are voted like so much reality TV. It’s time to turn this HR monster around and have job seekers be the boss of themselves. Let no twenty-something have control over your established career path!
Unfortunately more and more employers REQUIRE that applicants apply online, and ONLY online.
The reason for this is a set of intrusive regulations called OFCCP. Large employers are required to report to the Feds regularly on the racial makeup of who they are interviewing and who they hire.
For example, if position “x” is open, they have to provide a report telling the Feds that “19 white males, 6 white females, 3 black males, 2 black females, 4 Asian males and 1 Hispanic female applied. We interviewed 4 white men, 4 white women, 3 black men and 1 Hispanic and hired Sally Jones, a white female, due to reasons A, B, C, D, and F.
They force you to apply online to self-identify by race and collect the rest of this data.
Micro Soft to buy
Microsoft just bought them for more than a couple Billion.
Now that Microsoft has purchased LinkedIn, postings may plunge further without relation to the actual job market.

It’ll only get better now that MS is buying them...
You'll be forced to take a job at 2:00AM that you don't even want. Kinda the way the country's headed anyway.
Went looking for a 2nd job on Linkedin and the listings were scarcely better than the sleazy fly-by-night data-’mining’ (stealing) websites that you can’t throw a rock without hitting ten of them. Not good news no matter how you slice it.
Put in a degree, skill, or certification you have and customize the zip code radius search, and you are gold.
NYS Dem Governor Cuomo has held up the latest state jobs report for months because it is soooo bad.
