I think they are stuck with simple facts that you can’t white-wash. The guy was an American citizen (born here). The guy legally acquired the guns. The guy paid taxes like the rest of us. The guy showed continued signs of radicalism, and was checked out at least once by the Homeland Security folks. Every law in effect....worked like it should have. You can’t defeat this threat with the mechanism we have currently in place. End of the story. In seven days, we will have forgotten about the incident, and just moved on.
