Howe was also a leading proponent in the suit against the Lords of Hockey for stealing money from the players pension fund. Though not a party of the suit himself, Bobby Orr helped to finance it.

I’ve been a Red Wings fan since the 1940s as a kid growing up in Detroit. Ted Lindsay lived on my street and would wave at us kids playing hockey while ‘skating’ in galoshes on the frozen street as he drove by. The ‘Production Line’ of Sid Abel, Ted Lindsay and Gordie Howe dominated the game in those days ...
