Staged events that are presented as "real" isn't even a new concept. The idea of kayfabe goes back to carny days before professional wrestling embraced it in the 50s:

Trump has been around reality TV for over a decade. He knows exactly how kayfabe is performed according to script. Every time people thinks he's 'really done it this time', it turns out to be just another notch in his belt.
When are people going to realize that Trump has a controversy lined up each and every week for the next 5 months? When are people going to realize that whenever DT seemingly makes a mistake, a script has already been prepared long in advance with the full knowledge that he will be completely exonerated?
DT doesn't do mistakes; DT fakes making mistakes as part of an alternate kayfabe reality that feeds back to prove his essential point(s). Each and every time he scores it resonates with his audience and moves his numbers higher.
Hillary's Hollywood people of course know all these tricks very well. Their challenge will to be somehow counter DT's kayfabe.
