Walls work, but not by being impenetrable barriers. The Roman's built Hadrian's wall to keep the Scots from raiding the Roman territory, but they posted sentries every mile or so, forts every few miles, and had lots of patrols up and down the wall. The people on the other side couldn't begin an attack on a part of the wall without the Romans knowing about it and repelling it in force.

We would need to do something similar, with the US military. The border patrol would be the ones with responsibility inside the country, but we should post military guards ever mile, with stations every 10 or 20 miles, forts every 100 miles and air force/helicopter patrols lending support. The cholos won't even try any more.

If we could trust our politicians we wouldn’t need a wall.

Save some money and just electrify it like a bug zapper..no wasted man power or cost till they touch it.......the CPFI ( cost per foreign invader) would be minuscule....Hell we could even outfit it with solar panels on the walls and sell the excess power back to the mexicans.....
