San Jose is the capital of Silicon Valley (”Sili Valley”) and a global (world-class) city. It has a high per-capita income, as expected for such a city.

Yes, it has a barrio, with several generations of poor Latin America immigrants.
However, as a wealthy, world-class city that is the headquarters of numerous well-known high-tech firms, there was NO EXCUSE for the Third-World behavior of the city’s mayor, police chief etc.!!
ALL OF THEM should be impeached and fired, and restitution should be made to all Trump supporter who were attacked in that disgraceful melee!!!!
Then the city of San Jose should begin acting like a world-class city, NOT like the capital of one of Mexico’s poorest and most violent states!!!!
