The settlements occupy about 1.7% of the West Bank and the construction has been internal in already existing settlements, no new land was taken. The Palestinians could have had a State in over 93% of the West Bank if they had accepted Olmert’s offer in 2008…instead they are in a rush to submit a UNSC resolution before the end of Obama’s term because they know Obama will not veto it and the old city of Jerusalem (including Temple Mount and the Kotel) will be placed in the Palestinian side of the border. The Palestinians prefer a UNSC resolution rather than a negotiated solution because this way the Old City of Jerusalem will be declared Palestinian…France voted in favor of UNESCO’s resolution that claims Jews have no connection to Temple Mount
