Gearheads across Chicagoland always knew someone that had seen her at Skips.

Finding an actual witness was difficult to find.

Thanks for that bit of lore. I wasn't a gearhead, or piston head as we called them.
My strongest memory of Skip's was taking our bikes up there I think the summer
after 6th grade, or 1963, and climbing up on the marquee and changing a few words
to vulgarities.
