I’m pretty sure that, even in a country in which people vote based on the most frivolous of factors, Billy Carter barely crossed people’s minds when making their decisions.

If you look at post 59, billy made the cover of newsweek. Between billy and miss lillian, carter looked like a pansy mommy's boy from a dysfunctional family.

Couple that with his silly grin, lack of substantial reaction to the Iranian hostage crisis, his malaise speech and hyperinflation he was a big loser by his own design. Certainly billy was no asset there either.
