Suppose the KKK was a huge problem and the judge was a member of the “KKK Lawyers Association”. Suppose further that a politician wanted all KKK members to be prosecuted. Now suppose a case to which that politician is a party comes before the judge. The judge’s conflict is clear.

The answer to both questions is yes.
Judge Curiel is associated with a racist organization. That racist organization opposes Trump politically.
Judge Curiel’s conflict is clear. His impartiality may reasonably be questioned, he should recuse himself.

If he is promoting return of the land to Mexico and funding illegal immigrants as the thread indicates, he has no place in any judicial position where he has sworn to uphold the constitution. He has broken the law
