It's been a long time since I went on a school field trip to one in TX (see dinosaurs). All that I remember is that it had (IIRC) three large tanks with stirring mechanisms. It looked more dry in each successive tank. It came out of the end of the facility from a batcher, dry, into trucks or bags. The climate there was already very hot. It snowed very briefly about once in ten years.
