He who controls the definition of words, controls the argument.

Breaking the law is the very DEFINITION of criminal activity, of crime.

Circular reasoning. “I didn’t THINK I was breaking the law, therefore no law was broken, and no crime happened.”

Besides, somebody else was doing the same thing, and nothing happened to THEM.

I guess General Petraeus did not have anything happen to him.

Ignorance of the law is not, and never has been, any excuse for breaking it.
