Granted, Singapore is a good example, HomenBohn. But I renew my objection: the human heart is crooked and sinful, even the Singaporean heart. I would not want my father, brother, husband or son (or female equivalent) to be the torturer --- if they were, I would fear for their souls.

The lack of incorruptible people, morally upright enough to do the job, may be regrettable. Jesus had a thought on this.
