Chick-fil-A is rolling out a new app that will let customers avoid waiting in line at the register.
The app, called Chick-fil-A One, will allow customers to order and pay for their food in advance, then pick it up at a counter designated for online orders.
That's big news for fans of Chick-fil-A, which is typically slammed with customers during regular meal times, making long lines inevitable.
The app will also allow users to customize and save their favorite orders.
Michael Lage, a veteran of Facebook and Google who helped develop the app, says it will change how customers, particularly parents with young children, experience and interact with Chick-fil-A.
"I have a 2-year-old daughter, and I can't imagine interacting with Chick-fil-A without the app anymore," he said, commenting on the difficulty of managing toddlers while waiting in line.
To celebrate the launch of the app, Chick-fil-A is giving away free chicken sandwiches to everyone who downloads it between June 1 and June 11.
Customers will get their choice of a free original, spicy, or grilled chicken sandwich when they sign up.

I thought they were going to be open on Sundays was the announcement.
This is good news!
I don’t know what is going on with Chick Fil A, but their service level has gone down the toilet the past few months. They are getting my orders screwed up more and more frequently.
Yep...that’s been Chick-Fil-A’s problem for a long time. Too many customers in line. I bet Burger King, McDonald’s et al would kill to have that problem!
That’s because they are getting overwhelmed with customers. What Corporate needs to do is streamline the process for franchising. Chick-Fil-A is the most difficult franchise to purchase.
The place is too clean?
The employees are too nice?
The food is too good?
The company sticks it its principles?
I thought they would open a store closer than 120 miles to Reno.
What Corporate needs to do is streamline the process for franchising.
Well I guess the franchisee in our area is doing something right. Two new Chick-fil-A’s are opening in the next year or so. The one that opened near Tacoma Mall is doing very well.
Quality control?

Oh for Pete’s sake, Little Mary Whinefest. Just hand the toddler to the gorilla.
[Oh for Petes sake, Little Mary Whinefest. Just hand the toddler to the gorilla.]
Great, now I have coffee all over my monitor!!!
[Thats because they are getting overwhelmed with customers. ]
That’s not the case. I tell them my order, and they repeat it back to me, and it’s not what I ordered. The problems are before I even walk away from the register.
Ankle-nipping, meat-eating, armored ground crickets can make dining-in a challenge.
“Oh for Petes sake, Little Mary Whinefest. Just hand the toddler to the gorilla.”
Gorilla primal screamfest aside...that was funny, right there.
“I thought they were going to be open on Sundays was the announcement.”
That’s what I thought too. Staff Sundays with 7th Day Adventist crews.
They don’t sell a Chicken Parmesan (my favorite) sandwich?
Well, it could be worse. I walked into the KFC a few weeks ago, ordered two small breasts, a left wing, and two large thighs, and the lady behind the counter said she wouldn't serve a Clinton supporter, she was voting for Bernie.
Yeah, I’m going to be looking for opportunities to use that. LOL!
I read, somewhere, a while back that Chick-Fil-A gets over 20k franchise applications a year. They only grant 75-80 (per year).
Exceptionally tough to get a franchise.
