In a new statement, the TSA placed blame on passengers, claiming that individuals are at fault for showing up to checkpoints unprepared. Individuals who come to the TSA checkpoint unprepared for a trip can have a negative impact on the time it takes to complete the screening process, the agency said in a press release, which also included travel tips to help cut down on delays. The release also blamed the uptick in wait times on shrinking staff and a rise in travelers. Chicagos OHare Airport, for instance, has seen an 8 percent rise in travelers since the start of

There is no main long line. There are metal detector portals at little nodes along the way. Sometimes you realize it, sometime you don't.
When you are in the waiting area, sometimes these cute little petite uniformed female security guards come by with a wand and politely asks your permission to wand you and/or your luggage. Nobody ever says no.
They still catch their share of riff-raff which tries to smuggle drugs and, after convictions and appeals, treat them to a swinging time at the nearby Changi Prison.
Very interesting idea!
A week or two ago I heard that from time to time TSA people are pulled from their TSA airport jobs to staff liberal (Hillary, I believe) events. True? I don’t know.

I understand what they mean. On a recent trip to Aruba I had to take a Nebulizer and my CPAP machine. One was in carry on and one has it own case. Had I been prepared I would have had the machine parts of those machines in one of their boxes. I put them through as is and it required a hand search and rescan of both my bags. I’m sure that my stupidity that day could have made someone miss their flight. I could have avoided this had I thought about the motors in the bags.
“I have never walked through one of the full body scan machines because it is just begging for cancer. Consequently, I have been groped many times in airports,”
I do the machines because of an artificial hip which ALWAYS makes the walk-through beep. The hip shows up clearly in the naked machine so there should be no question. Still... I get pulled aside and groped anyhow. It’s to control and humiliate and has nothing to do with security.
Yes waaay past time to shut er down.
What an enormous load of incompetent sh*t!
When it was first formed (the TSA, I mean), the Dems loudly and repeatedly told us, “If you want to professionalize, you must Federalize!”
It was bunk then, and it's bunk now, but the difference is, time has validated me.
Not that that will make any difference...
CA....
A thousand pardons for my hip replacement. I get scanned, wanded, checked for explosives and groped every time.
Whatever it is the Israelis are doing, I’d like to take the TSA money and put it toward that.
Had a preview of what is going on now at a number of the major airports last summer when I had gotten to the Hartford/Springfield Bradley International Airport when I was going to a Bible conference in PA. I go to the airport ahead of time, but there were LINES.
If I go back to the Bible, I will look at the Amtrak trains.

Just went through the process at BWI. 5 minutes. Had TSA Pre.
As a result, they run the safest airports and airline in the world.
Few years ago, a Brit on vacation here bought 3 “cowboy” single action revolvers privately. Had no idea they were not permitted on aircraft. TSA at Orlando - Sanford airport never detected.
They have since been replaced by private screening firm.
