Voters don't hate Joe Biden, 73, the genial vice president who openly agonized last year before deciding not to put himself and his family through the rigors of a presidential bid in the wake of the 2015 death of his son after a battle with brain cancer.
Not most voters, anyway. In a nationwide poll conducted in March for Bloomberg Politics, only 35 percent of respondents had a negative view of Biden compared with 68 percent who had a negative view of Trump, 53 percent who viewed Clinton unfavorably and 41 percent with a negative impression of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who also is vying for the Democratic nomination.
Biden's favorability rating in that same poll was 57 percent compared with 29 percent for Trump, 44 percent for Clinton and 52 percent for Sanders.
If Clinton's email-related problems get worse or other developments sink her popularity far below even Trump's, causing her to step aside, Biden, as a more establishment figure than Sanders, would be the party's likely choice as a "slip-in" candidate and an almost certain winner against Trump.
Sanders' die-hard supporters would be outraged, of course, but they're already outraged. The online ranting of the "Bernie or Bust" crowd that a Trump presidency would ultimately be better for the causes they believe in than a Clinton (or, presumably, Biden) presidency because it would galvanize a progressive revolution in 2020 is naive

He’d be good for a few laughs, I guess.
Not according to Bernie Sanders.
A poll from months ago was the most recent one they could find? Numbers have sure changed since then.
the D’s are getting ready to pich Loser HIllary the Liar
isn’t it amazxing that the D’s don’t have a single respectable candidate to nominate....!? wow!
If Joe girds his loins and jumps in, all is fair game.
Donald should make ads showing still photos of Biden putting his hands all over women and young girls, usually while at a ceremonial occassion, where they have to show some restraint from smacking his hands away. What about that photo of Biden sitting with his open palm gently holding the thigh of a middle aged sheriff? The look on that sheriff’s face said it all; “If you weren’t the VP, you would be getting a knuckle sandwich, right about now!”
isnt it amazxing that the Ds dont have a single respectable candidate to nominate....!?

And not likely to have one in our life times.
Oh?
Which luck lady is Creepy Joe going to slip into?
Hillary is thrown under the bus by the Chicago Tribune... her hometown newspaper!
And replaced by Pervert Biden!

Right, because there is absolutely no way Trump could have a field day with Double Dealing Democrats or Bandit Biden. At this point if Hillary is out, the nominee would have to be Sanders or the Dems split.
Clowns, crooks, and crazies are popular. What a country!
What a great intro; “Voters don’t hate Joe Biden, ...”.

Sanders' die-hard supporters would be outraged, of course, but they're already outraged.
Yes, they are, and it appears that in terms of the popular vote they're also a majority of the party. I don't think dismissing them like that is likely to do a Biden candidacy any good. Look, Sanders has the vote and CrookedHillary owns the machine. Biden has the same chance of riding into the Dem convention on a white horse as Yeb! does for the Republicans. Nobody but a political wonk with his nose firmly planted in the collective Beltway anus is likely to react to this happy establishment fantasy with anything but laughter.
Imagine the commercials against him.
Omlg. (L for loving)
So it begins. The whispers of “Hillary can’t win” will quickly turn into shouts of “We want Joe!”. The real question is, will Hillary go quietly or will she go psycho and threaten to expose any Rat that is not on board with her?
This will require Hillary to be indicted or come down with a health issue or Bernie to die. The Berniebots will not take this well if he is still kicking.
