I think former US Senator, Peter G. Fitzgerald, GOP IL, could help deliver Illinois to Trump, as his VP. It’s complicated, and full of irony. Obama replaced Fitzgerald, after Chicago politics ran it’s course. Shenanigans aplenty, and compromised politicians on both sides of the aisle. Despicable!
