Compared to Reagan’s time, the social norms have drifted way past “liberal”, they’ve fallen off the edge. A 1980’s moderate social liberal would be considered a right-wing reactionary by today’s standards.

Do you mean “liberal”, as that term was defined in 1985; or do you mean raving libertine, as has become the “new normal”?

I think of today's Liberal as an individual opposed to today's Conservative, e.g. one simply rooting for their team. I've often thought today's politics is simply a sporting event for nerds. A Conservative today it seems, is the Liberal of Reagan's era.

I am a Conservative as defined by Reagan in 1980.
