Read the article. It’s about having too much cheap energy (natural gas) that it may cause some nuclear and coal fired plant to have to shut down temporarily because the electricity they generate can’t compete with the natural gas plants. Obviously there is more energy capacity than needed.

So it’s not about shutting down the grid but shutting down some of the plants supplying the grid because they are not needed.

In other words, it’s a good news for the consumer.

It is indeed. Unless you live in northeast Illinois where we have a serious shortfall due to green idiots demanding we shut down our nukes where from we derive 80% or so of our electricity.

Perhaps YOU should read the article. It is about decreasing demand, not just increasing supplies from gas plants.

The other side is that power demand is down because of energy efficiency. More good news for the consumer.
