I think a lot of the body politic has gotten tired of being assailed by Ted. He was convinced that it was impossible that he should go at all into that good night, let alone gently.
But as a Christian myself (though rather oddball by many mainstream lights) I could have told Ted that he had bitten off more than he could spiritually chew. If you are projecting the “plaster saint” image — you’re doing it wrong. We’re all sinners in constant need of the grace of God. So own it.
Well said.
“Were all sinners in constant need of the grace of God. So own it.”
Very true. The law condemns us daily. Humility are the clothes our Lord wore and His servants need to wear as well.
“Only by grace can we enter,
only be grace are we saved.
Not by our human endeavors,
but by the blood of the Lamb.
Into Your presence You call us
Call us to come
Into Your presence You draw us
And now by Your grace we come
We come
Now by Your grace we come
Lord, if You mark our transgressions
Who would stand?
But thanks to Your grace
We are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb
Only by grace can we enter
And now by Your grace we come
We come
Now by Your grace we come
