I'm retired so my commuting days are behind me; unless they start an income tax I'll be here until Jesus calls me home.
As for the tolls in Miami, Dade, I never go there. That part of FL is no longer part of the USA and hasn't been for decades.
God bless you. Hope to be retired myself someday and won’t miss the commute. Lol
I’ll be retiring in about 21 years, if my savings hold up. I will not miss jousting with all the knuckleheads on the roads.
I figured those complaining about the Miami tolls are driving the $2 per mile lanes.
I’m stopped just outside of SR 429. If you are going through Orlando for the weekend... don’t. do. it.
Driving through Orlando any time is difficult.
But driving through at the beginning of a 3 day holiday weekend is on my list of "Things To Do" right after "mash nuts flat with sledge hammer."
On the west coast of FL, there are several tolls, but they are generally avoidable. The Sunshine Skyway bridge is one that I pay when I go north to Tampa. Then there are $6 tolls to get onto Boca Grande and Sanibel Islands. I believe there are a couple of shortcuts through Tampa with tolls, but I generally avoid those.
