Also, when you look at his sponsors, at one time he had Florida Orange Juice (big) and now is doing Mahindra Tractors and some steel fabrication company. Really? These will appeal to Rush listeners?

LS this will ramble a bit.

I have grown up with Rush and as to be expected both of us have gotten older. I just don't find him that interesting funny or insightful anymore - perhaps its because he first helped us learn to spot the liberals patterns and now we can do it ourselves.

I don't find it that entertaining and its chuck full of commercials.

Rush has gone through a lot. The drug addiction is probably more painful then we will ever know. 3 or 4 wives I don't wish that on my worse enemy.

Bottom Line I don't really care anymore what he thinks or why he thinks it. I'd rather pop into FreeRepublic to get my new/politics fix.

I don't wish anything but the best for Rush he just seems - compromised in some way.

For those of us who were on the Trump train very early perhaps we have been counting everybody words the entire process and have gotten a bit paranoid. More than anything else the tone I get over and over from these media types is jealously and "yeesh I'm smarter than that".

Remember when Trump came in one of the things he repeated over and over is "I'm a really smart person" most thought he was being Trump Vain no he was pre-empting the common media attack against republican candidates that they are naive and stupid. He doesn't have to do that anymore with the mainstream media because they are easily hypnotized.

The so called conservative talk radio host all still think they are smarter than Trump.

Trump is wicked smart

Why is/was Rush better then all the other talk show hosts? Well one of the reason in my opinion was he wasn't in a hurry to get to the next caller and would really engage people and largely let them finish. This is not the case with most hosts. Medved is probably with worst at manipulating and twisting callers words/cutting them off or mischaracterizing them after hanging up.

I guess my point to all of this is - The Trump campaign has made us aware of many ways we are being manipulated and lied to. In the course of it I've gotten the sense that we don't have that same passionate Rush - its the perfect time to bring back the term femi-nazi and start doing caller abortions again. He admits NAFTA was a mistake (I supported it ) maybe I'll stop thinking he somehow not being honest.

Yeah Shapiro is pretty pathetic I know he has a very sick little girl so I imagine that stress is probably unimaginable. People need to stop drinking the purple kool-aid reflect upon the experience of recent history and do some of their own thinking. These talk show host seem to have been living in a disinformation echo chamber.

Thats' why I call them the pimps of punditry they tried to push a whored out Ted Cruz on us just like McCain and Romney.

I remember a time when Pat Buchanan was welcome on the Rush Limbaugh show

I FULLY agree on the illness, the drug addiction, and the impact it had on his third marriage. I think Marta could not cope with his addiction and, simultaneously, with his pain quotient. It’s interesting that she, especially, has been 100% silent (certainly part of the divorce, but even so, there are ways to leak things, so she has been extremely loyal. I think she’s still a fan.)

Rush let his love of Cruz’s POSITIONS override his common sense about Cruz as a person. I drifted away from Cruz, then ran away from him, because of the utter sleaze coming from the campaign of a so-called Christian. Everyone makes mistakes, but Cruz flatly denied them and engaged in underhanded tactics-—yes, they may have been legal, but the Apostle Paul said to avoid even the appearance of evil.

This really hurt Rush and his analysis (David’s too) because he could never understand why conservatives and evangelicals were not siding with Cruz. He did a much better job than anyone else, but because he didn’t want to criticize Cruz, he could just never wrap his arms around why Cruz became to toxic.

Funny, isn’t it, that Trump who was supposed to be toxic ran a pretty darn straight, normal campaign and Cruz was involved in the shady stuff? Anyway, I think Rush’s moderation still caused him to retain listeners who just quit some of the others in frustration. Hannity came out the winner, and intellectually I think he is the most lightweight of all. Prior to the campaign, he would just regurgitate the same phrases every show and have the same little panels of guests on. But he has been extremely fair to ALL candidates during this cycle.

Also, I agree that because Rush taught us how to spot bias in the media, how to uncover liberalism in policies, he has made himself somewhat less necessary than he was 20 years ago.
