Yeah, maybe Captain America at the Avengers HQ can demand a transgender bathroom. But Iron Man becomes a right wing bigot and this starts the next movie: Captain America: Civil War 2.

The “truth, justice, all that stuff” Perry White line in Superman Returns was completely consistant with White and the development of the character going back decades. It’s exactly the sort of cynical comment hard bitten street reporter now editor White would say.
In analyzing and critiquing things like this we need to take care not to go overboard on what are non-issues. Taking them out of the larger context because superficially and only at face value they appear to support our point. That Perry White line is a great example of just such a non-issue.
Then I guess I remembered the whole thing wrong. Movies aren’t my thing.
The ironic thing is that would actually make sense -- what else would you expect from a society of women with no men?
