I don't think that Beck is smart enough to understand that whatever Zuckerberg said in their meeting, does not matter. Facebook, Google, and any of the other Internet gatekeepers and intermediaries can have their thumb on the scales in any number of ways, and you would not be able to see it. That is the real problem.

If it was just sharing photos of the grandkids, no problem, but social media has become the source of information for the broad swath of the public not curious enough to seek out information on their own. For those folks the subtle weighting of a search algorithm to lean this way or that way, can make a lot of difference. It's a serious problem and the Zuckerberg meeting did nothing to resolve it, no matter what Beck thinks.

You are absolutely right. And to add.....many comments sections on news sites require a FB or Twitter account. They are boxing us in.
