We have been living in the fantasy of A Clockwork Orange dystopia. Through the Looking Glass has morphed into Night of the Living Dead. Up is down. Down is up. It is all horrible and deadly. Our leader is foul with his own excrement, bloodthirsty and deranged beyond sanity. Nothing good has come of this Dance With the Devil.
At last, an avenging angel has come with a flaming sword. His words are harsh. His blows are mighty. He drives some mad with hatred. Many are drawn to his vengeance. All are enthralled by the specter of a purging conflagration that burns into the soul. Here, in the Hell of our own design, we are drawn to a lightening bolt thrower, a Zeus, who calls us to follow him out of Hell.
Can there be a Greater Good than this, that we may be delivered out of our madness? Yes. There can and there is, but it is a narrow path that leads ever upward. It is a torturous climb that leaves most dangling from its precipices. It is the painful climb to real salvation. Its end provides deliverance from madness. It is the Way of Christ and is our only Hope.
All the rest, the salacious buggerers who dance precious minuets, the heroic Zeus announced by blaring trumpets, these are the minions of our madness.
We know in the deepest part of our soul that we must follow the Living God if we are to have life beyond this Veil of Tears. That is all. That is all there has ever been.
