Ordinary Americans I'd like to know whom these pundits think the "extraordinary Americans" are.
I'm getting a little annoyed at that phrase.

A Latina-American from Laredo, Texas, tells me she and most of her friends are for Trump because he wants to keep Mexicans out. She thinks too many Mexicans have come here illegally, making it harder for those here legally. A union member from Pittsburgh says hes for Trump because hell be tough on American companies shipping jobs abroad, tough with the Chinese, tough with Muslims.

The last sentence of this otherwise excellent article is a disaster.
Trump is only dangerous if you are a political insider or a crony capitalist dependent on DC favoritism.
Implied (but not stated) is that the all of the television news stations and broadcasters are fighting the last war, “covering” a Nixon Humphrey Presidential race instead of the new world of Trump.
(For those who don’t remember that game is call the Republican names, worship the Democratic candidate, and sound very serious and impartial.)
The elites made the world the way they wanted it—now they will have to deal with the consequences.

I'm only 30, but haven't they been doing that ever since Nixon? Look at 2008 and 2012. You'd think modern Hitler was running on the republican ticket.

At a pre-Iowa caucus Trump event, a foreign reporter asked me if I thought Donald Trump had a chance; I told him "yes," and I told him why. Other people on FR have put my reasons more articulately than I did to this gent, but it isn't some sort of fraternal, secret handshake mystery.
