So... you don’t consider being dysfunctionally self-destructive the same as suicidal?

Nah. For instance, a person can take drugs or even engage in risky violent criminal behavior on a regular basis. It’s self-destructive, but many such people still end up living a long time.

Whereas being suicidal and actually taking steps to kill yourself is a whole different state of mind.
