I haven’t followed this case closely but it seems that this guy might have been the “star” defendant,meant to be the first domino to fall.It’ll be interesting,to me at least,to see what might happen with the others.Charges dropped perhaps? Allowed to plead guilty to minor charges perhaps? I don’t know...I sure ain’t no lawyer.Or politicians.Or “community organizer”.

Prosecutors usually overcharge to intimidate the defendant to plead out to a lesser charge.

But in this case it backfired. The overcharging was so egregious and offensive it tainted the lesser charges.

I have trouble believing a black vehicle driver who was focused on driving (and black) being found guilty. He was even less potentially culpable than the others being tried.
