I heard dead bodies are used as landmarks on Mt Everest. Serious!

One of the sherpas from the 1996 season died just off the trail. Apparently, he is called "green boots" because of the neon green of his snow boots. I can see it now, the leader of a climb spurring his climbers on:

"Almost there, folks! Let's push by green boots, and we'll summit just after dumbass vegan! Push on!!!"

I read that some one rolled green boots off the mtn. He is no longer in his little cave.

I think I read that green boots is no longer there. Apparently, the Everest authorities go up there annually and push the bodies over the edge or into crevasses.

Everest and the people who attempt to conquer it are fascinating.
