Exactly. Far-right is on a spectrum of political opinions of the electorate in question. When a politician gets 51% of the vote, he is the physical incarnation of the exact center of the political bell curve of that electorate.

What these writers are really saying is “far-right in terms of the cocktail parties I attend”.

That’s not quite mathematically correct, but your general point holds that getting 51% pretty much forbids a description of “far right” if truth has any value.
