Kaslin,

As a member in the military and working within it for over 32 years, I can tell you that the draft is a real need. Our draft numbers are based upon slots. If we are in a real or perceived strong economy the enlistment numbers drop. This creates a problem filling “slots” in our military workings. I don’t know how many people that came in and were deployed to the middle east weren’t looking for ways to get out of it. They were looking for a job, and not a military one. the main injury in the middle east that brought women home during Desert Storm was pregnancy. And from what I saw personally, it was intentional. So, you can’t expect the people to be consistent with enlisting if the economy is good, and the need to fill slots is there. I remember when the3y had an overage of personnel after Vietnam. So they started “palace balance” to fill slots and people walked away. Then the destruction of the military numbers and equipment of the 90’s by Clinton finished the job. we4 need numbers. We are not capable of working two or more theaters at the same time competently at this point. Women, even if they are not physically able to accomplish combat slots due to their body breakdowns, can handle very many other type of slots. Many better than men. So yes draft them if they are needed. And they are needed.

OR we could just stop deploying troops overseas and concentrate on securing our own borders. Just a thought...
