I made a point of using minimal definitions, to force readers to look up some of the words and read it again in the new context.
Kafir or kufr is NOT the same as “infidel,” which basically means lacking fidelity to a given religion. Infidel is a very gentle word.
Kafir/Kufr more closely means “filthy, disgusting, sub-human non-Muslim n-word.”
This is why devout Muslim’s won’t shake a “kafir’s” hand with their right hand, but with their left, pretending the right is immobile or busy holding something. They will only touch filthy kafirs with their filth-cleaning hand.
Clever. Force the reader to actively engage. A bit of shaming for the pajama boys of the world.
You should have included that into your piece, most people when they hear Kafir haven’t a clue and if they have a clue they think it the Southern Africa term for black. And I know this will rub you the wrong way, but your work is appealing to an authority that could care less what you think. Today’s authority has to be delegitimized then you can change the narrative.
