Many great and productive people in this country’s history have been an inspiration to millions of others through their commitment to achievement, excellence and dedication to their fields of endeavor, whatever they were. Although many never achieved fortune or fame, they nevertheless served as examples for us to follow. They set a high bar for themselves and those around them.

Society benefits greatly from such individual role models. We need more, not fewer, people of such character.

This is why it is so important for a nation to have real heroes to remember. From the September 11th first responders to military heroes, to the founding fathers, recognizing the best virtues among our citizens helps life the entire American population.

Our current trend of heaping praise on musicians, Hollywood stars, rappers, and Kardashians is not healthy to a country.
