Here is where I disagree with you. In the last century the USA built the Panama Canal, the Hoover Dam, the trans continental highway system, fought and won two World Wars, went to the moon and made space travel common. In the past seven years, we added nearly $10 TRILLION to the National Debt and were downgraded TWICE. What do we have show for all that expense? The smallest Military since BEFORE WW2. The most people on Food Stamps ever. Need I go on?

“Make America Greater” doesn’t have quite the same ring as “Make America Great Again”. :) I am not marketing person.

I totally agree with you that the national debt is out of control.

I also worry that a recession could hit us very easily and put us in a very bad situation.

The military may be smaller in head-count but that doesn’t bother me due to technological advancements. Spending in 2015 is $657b vs $600b in 2008 (inflation adjusted) so it is not correct to think that the US military is being gutted in any way from a capabilities point of view.

Food stamp usage peaked in 2013 (47.6 million in 2013 to 45.8 million in 2015 and that is with a population growth of over 3 million people in those 2 years). I do fear that another recession could happen at any moment and that food stamp trend could easily be reversed.

All of those amazing projects you listed were huge federal government funded projects which would be impossible to build in today’s political climate. Interesting fact: the debt on the Hoover Dam wasn’t paid back to the US Treasury until 1987.

There is no other country I would want to live in and that doesn’t change based on who the president is. The American spirit will prevail over any particular president.
