I’m not one to hit the “abuse” button. A lot of what is written can be misunderstood at times. But again, I understand the anger.

You make good points but we are fighting a group similar to when we were in Vietnam. We aren’t fighting “fighters” wearing clothing of an army. We are fighting gang violence. Worldwide gang violence. We have dumb kids here in the US that have gone to fight for ISIS at the age of 15 because they think it is cool. And it is happening in other countries as well.
We, as the United States, have stepped up and have quelled it here in the states. At least, made it a bit more difficult to access airlines and such. Not impossible but more difficult.
There are 5,000 airline companies in the world. That’s a daunting task. We can’t tell 5,000 airline companies to disallow Muslim’s from flying on their airlines. Or working on them. Or actually piloting them. We can’t keep them from flying American’s to our country or any other country, for that matter.
I’ve read where we need to step up our Customs agents in and outside of the country. That could help but I will say, as someone who flies to different countries, standing in line for 2-4 hours, it is maddening. And that still doesn’t help with the people working at the airports. Keeping Muslims from working on planes, cleaning planes, delivering water for the next flight, etc in Egypt’s International airport would be impossible. Or any airport. It’s hard to stop something if you don’t know what you are looking for.

Again, it is a daunting task and I am just curious what that lynchpin is when I hear, “It could have been prevented”. If it could have been, why wasn’t it? It is easy to be an armchair quarterback. Actually implementing a plan (outside of genocide) is difficult at best.

Yes, it could have been prevented. See Ann Coulter’s response to 11 Sep 2001:

“Airports scrupulously apply the same laughably ineffective airport harassment to Suzy Chapstick as to Muslim hijackers. It is preposterous to assume every passenger is a potential crazed homicidal maniac. We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now.

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.”
