If I were the judge, and since I cannot fire these rats, I would sentence them to wearing sandwich boards in downtown DC for 6 months, the boards saying, “I’m a government lawyer and I lied on the taxpayers dime; kick me.”
The American Bar Associations Model Rules of Professional Conduct states that a lawyer shall not knowingly make a false statement of material fact. In other words, lawyers arent supposed to lie—and they can be disciplined or even disbarred for doing so. But notice, the key word here is knowingly. A lawyer cannot knowingly lie.
Keelhaul the lot of them.
But what of the prop?
Give them some extra weight, so the will stay below the prop.
