Back when John Boehner was Speaker, he was the unpopular establishment figure fighting against a passionate Republican base that adhered strictly to conservative orthodoxy. Today, in a surprising turn of events, Boehner—who supports Donald Trump—finds himself in a more enviable position.
Boehner has nothing to lose. He has no Speakership from which to be ousted. Meanwhile, many of his old adversaries—you know, the Ted Cruz 97% wing of the House GOP—suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of a passionate base that prizes Trumpian strength over ideological purity.
The tables, it seems, have turned.
Which brings us to this news in Politico the other day, and a crazy theory I have about what it means: “The former House speaker will spend late July and all of August on a cross-country bus trip raising money and campaigning for House Republicans, according to multiple sources familiar with his plans.”
Ryan-o is Boehner’s revenge.
It was odd that Ted, a pastor’s son, exempts himself from the church tithe: said he had family expenses to worry about.
Boehner could still be sitting in his House seat, drinking, and playing golf if he didn’t have so much pride.
Ryan-o’s bug-eyes get to one after a while.
Who knows what Boehner will try to do? But weasels gotta weasel. We should expect the worst.
Just keep the drinks in front of him and let him know Obama will be available for golf everyday come January.

The contempt is mutual. They lost so now they say they will go third party?
They prefer Hillary over Trump to preserve the political status quo ante. Let them start their own party? They already have one: Uniparty. Good riddance to Kristol, Boehner and their ilk.
Once things settle in, Cruz will eventually be a bigger ally than Boehner...Ted Cruz is an admitted liar.
Known/admitted liars can never be trusted. If they'll lie for you, they'll lie to you when they have to...They're also thieves.
IOW, Ted Cruz is a fraud to the core and can never be trusted for any reason or position including SCOTUS.
Mr boehner is walking example of why Solomon wrote in the Proverbs that men in authority should not drink.
