San Diego International Airport is sending in clowns from the Fern Street Circus to tickle the passengers’ funny bones, NBC reported.

“They are creating content inspired by the traveler experience, so they will constantly be visible, trying out new ideas and interacting with passengers,” said airport spokesman Jonathan Heller. “We certainly think they will be at the checkpoints often, as people waiting in line are a great audience for them!”

Just what we want in the airport.

Your choice ...either that or face painting.

LOL! This is really an underserved market. Someone above mentioned topless waitresses with beer, but even clothed waitresses with beer would do well. Also mobile nail salon, hair-braiding, massage ...

Shoe shines? Battery charging? Packs of peanuts?

The peanuts might be a hate crime, but charging a fee to let someone plug into a battery pack would probably be popular.

All other insinuations aside, and even though everyone seems to wear sneakers these days, I would love to see the shoeshine service come back.

[FWIW, my BMW dealer/service had a lovely olde black gentleman, who would shine your shoes, if you were waiting for your car to be serviced.]

If more people wore shineable shoes, this would be much more of a thing. I suppose it would depend on the location of the airport and the time of day: when there are the most business travelers.
