Apparently the guy has no money and has big student debt. He probably created the hoax to get a payoff, not so much to make Whole Foods look bad. They could probably crush him if they wanted to but would probably just look nasty in the process. Best to just let it go.

Of course, as others have pointed out, the hoax pastor and Whole Foods are on the same side, mostly.

It is all just a misunderstanding.
