We moved from CA and I know that marine layer you speak of. It is beautiful. I’m more of a mountain person, but spent time in all the beauty CA had to offer. Death Valley was amazing too.

The ‘smoke’ here settles between the ridges, really emphasizing the multiple ridges, one after another. I never saw that in the Sierras. But having the oldest, tallest, and biggest (volume, my beloved Giant Sequoias) is something special.

I hope Trump can try to save the state...

Depending upon what part of East TN you're in, if you start missing big trees you could always go to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest near Robbinsville, NC. The Tulip Poplars there are not as large as a Sequoia, but they're pretty darn big. Palm Springs commercial photography
