I am driving and hiking around in awe every day, it is so spectacular. And every day my mountains (I am taking ownership of them-I feel very possessive) look different with the varying clouds, sun, shadows on them.

Don’t forget NC! From here, when we cross into NC it has a ragged, wild beauty with deeper hollers and higher peaks. Probably the wildness WV has ;)

Yes, WV is steeper and wilder in the hills. You can find yourself completely overshadowed by mountains and you feel sheltered from the world. Trees too. We have more trees than anyplace I’ve ever been. N.C. and VA have expansive mountains. The Appalachians are huge in height and width. The area covered by N.W. N.C.,East TN, Eastern KY, and Eastern WV is unmatched for beauty.(except for the Tetons).
