Nobody is going to be perfect — however serious reverence of a God who wants us to love one another as the chiefest thing on His agenda behind loving Him, will move us towards the better.

Wars can be just; however they won’t be just if they are unwisely prosecuted. To just “fight” an enemy without some idea of an end game, risks you becoming like that enemy.

Unless there is a specific, ironclad basis of self-defense, going to war is a violation of “Thou shalt not kill [murder]”.

Anyone who can’t follow even that Commandment has zero claim to Godliness.

This is a huge disconnect going on among social conservatives. They’ll put everything else aside in the name of the “right to life” and in the next breath advocate some aggressive, pointless war in which millions die.

They don’t seem to understand that it doesn’t cease to be murder if they have someone else do it for them.

That’s why social conservatism has dead-ended. The screaming hypocrisy has deafened everyone else to anything they might want to say. Cruz’ ignominy is but an encapsulation of everything that has gone wrong with socons.
