Ted Cruz on Saturday used his first speech since dropping out of the presidential race not to endorse Donald Trump or urge Republican unity behind him, but to maintain that core conservatives can save America.
Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, countered by deploying a top surrogate who did his best to woo skeptical Texas conservatives. Addressing thousands of cheering delegates at the Texas Republican Convention, many of whom climbed to their feet and waved red-white-and-blue "Thank You Ted!" signs, Cruz repeated some of the same promises from his defunct White House campaign, like abolishing the IRS.
"People ask, 'Are you disappointed?' Of course you're disappointed," Cruz said. But he also insisted he remains optimistic about American conservatism. "That movement is far more important than any one campaign, far more important than one candidate," Cruz said. "We may face some challenges ahead, but I am convinced that movement, the men and women gathered here, will be the remnant, will be the core of the movement pulling this country back from the abyss."

The occasions where this has happened already, e.g. with Jeff Sessions, have produced very good results.
I wish in a way we could get a genie who would wipe out all our troubles, but this is not how God built the world. We got a Christ, not a genie. Progress from the worse towards the better will be possible. Flawless alabaster saints will never be possible till this mortal coil itself is out of the picture.
As Carson says, an “almost incomprehensible” level of arrogance. Cruz needs the same rebuke as Sasse got in Nebraska. Wonder if that would give him pause to stop his campaign mischief. What a loser, both him and anyone still stupid enough to support him.
Divisive, why he’s more disintegrating than a chipper shredder. The GOP died the day he was born. He probably cause the tectonic plates to crack up and sink into the hot magma mantle of the earth.
Cruz never has endorsed Trump and he has signed a pledge stating that he would. There is a similar article on the Dallas convention that state nearly half the delegates left and did not stay to hear Jeff Sessions speak.
That’s a shame since he came all the way from Alabama to support and speak on Donald Trump’s behalf.
Arrogance and ego = Cruz
I think you went awfully easy on him. Come on, Cruz is a lot worse than that.
Look. He’s the AntiChrist, Satan himself. Even his colleagues call him Lucifer in the flesh. He has ZERO redeeming features. Not ONE.
This prick is the type to raise a truce flag, then fire while under its protection.
Not very American of him. But then, he isn’t, is he?
I guess he could always get a gig with Glenn Beck helping Beck ridicule and make fun of people who call the show.
On the other hand, it’s quite refreshing to see all the poison pills in the GOP excommunicating themselves.
This comes, I fear, from superficiality.
You can’t apply a rightist whitewash over a rotten situation and call it genuinely improved — at least not if you are honest.
She just gives off that vibe. Microexpressions on her face. This video, while a parody, serves as a useful video in that you can see the expressions caught on film.

Those idiots who supported arrogent Cuuz, who needs em? We’re going to get a tsunami of support from former Obama supporters who voted for him twice and even fainted for him but now they regret it and will faint for Mr Trump.
“I reckon the onus is on Trump to show he is more than a boorish unknown.”
That’s called a primary. That thing he is winning right now.
Someone will need to reclaim conservatism from teddy. The putz is giving conservatism a bad name.
He’s not going to let go until there actually is a Republican nominee and it’s not him. Holding on until the bitter end.
Few people would consider Trump to be “unknown”.
Boorish? You probably have personal knowledge of that just judging from your attitude.
This is a pro-Trump site.
One instance of superficiality is the bathroom issues. This is a situation we are uncomfortable with right now, and which even has moral drawbacks, but it seems a day late and a dollar short for the kind of concern that the American people should have had. To re-moralize America is going to need, as Churchill said about the necessary WWII effort, blood, sweat, toil, and tears. We will have to sacrifice our convenience and our ease and our pride. But if we do, God will most certainly bless our sacrifice, through Christ’s own sacrifice which will support us.
>>I reckon the onus is on Trump to show he is more than a boorish unknown
He has already shown he is by far the best, the only hope for this nation. For those with eyes to see and ears to hear, it is blatantly obvious the man is not only the genius that this nation needs, but has the tough skills necessary to come up and win against the forces of evil. No one wins more than DJT.
Best of all, he is a true patriot, a tough cookie with a tender heart.
I hope all posters who like to slip in little digs, little zings against this nation’s LAST HOPE, will think very hard about the alternative.
As is said here: Get behind Trump or get out of the way. We have a nation to save!
But maybe you’re idolizing the wrong “Christ”?
Why don’t you just opus instead of doing the lame passive aggressive trolling you think is clever?
