Gingrich is pursuing it way too aggressively.

Dick Cheney 2= Gravitas. Old stuff is ancient history and he was an EFFECTIVE Speaker. Choseing him would set up a new Contract With Millennials.

I like Newt but not sure how he brings in votes, unless Trump wants to play it safe on the VP pick. Trump can get what Gingrich brings to the table by having him as Chief of Staff.

In the second video below, check out the odds - Newt and Christie (4 to 1 odds) are favored to be VP. Apparently people in Europe are taking bets.

What happened to looking for military service in the veep? Newt did not serve.

Maybe they could call it the divorce ticket: four divorces and six wives between them.

Gingrich is pursuing it way too aggressively.

Different rules this time around. Gingrich would sooth some folks who are concerned about a lack of government knowledge and experience. Gingrich himself is okay on presenting "deals". He might also be able to placate old line conservatives, as he under stands philosophical conservative even though he himself is a post-Reagan futurist.

Newt can advise in any capacity. Trump needs to win. I suggest a woman, conservative, Hispanic. Sussana Martinez, gov of NM has political experience and can advise first hand where the states are being messed with by the US to undo Obaminations.

That’s one way he could get a seat on Air Force One.

Seriously, Newt is fantastic until he isn’t.

OTOH, a great campaign slogan could be:

“Newt - he got better”

If he picks someone he must “groom to be successor” the media will take the anti-Quayle, anti-Palin approach. Too young, insufficient experience, heartbeat away...

Trump will have to defend his choice no matter who it is, but I doubt he’ll go with (relative) youth and inexperience.

If not Newt it is likely to be a military vet.

I heard Newt on Hannity the other night and what he said is that Trump needs to take the VP pick very seriously and there as VP.

Let Newt serve as Congressional Legislative Liason.

Select a younger version of DJT to continue the restoration process.

I think Newt would be better served as Chief of Staff and as a TV surrogate during the election. But I would have no issue with him as Veep.

My wife loves Newt. She is not big into politics but whenever he comes on she says his voice is soothing and explains policy in an easy to understand manner. FWIW.

I like Newt in his advisory role but NO! Not for VP.

THE criteria for Trump's VP: the right president in eight years to continue this revolt to cut 80% of the unconstitutional $4 trillion central government.

Newt is our philosopher-arm-twister deluxe. He would be excellent in some kind of behind-the-scenes advisory role.

As VP, he might be a drag on the ticket although he is one of the best debaters ever. He makes mince meat of his opponent and does it with a smile, complimenting him all the while. Its impressive to watch him in action.
