You know who the blogger is or who the EBT scammer is?
I decided to give to local food bank...
***********************
Great decision. Food will get to people who are needy.
As a contract programmer, I landed a gig in Macon, GA in the '90s. My wife got a job as a bank teller at one of the larger banks. She noticed one guy, who ran a small bodega, always came in with stacks of food stamp coupons, looking as if they had been torn out of the book - all denominations were in sequence.
She mentioned this to the manager, who reported it to the authorities. They put the guy "under investigation". We left after five years, and the guy, still bringing in his stacks, was still "under investigation".
One would hope, but it's not a conclusion.
A recent article/news story relates that a town/city in Montana is breaking ground for a million + dollar building... for a new food bank (better location, more parking).
That pretty much shuts me down, philanthropically. I was only paying myself back anyway.
