Donald Trump, who issued a December press release "calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," said Wednesday such a ban "hasn't been called for yet" and it was "only a suggestion."

It's the latest lightning-speed evolution for the real estate tycoon as he pivots from the provocateur who upended the Republican primary to a general election candidate....

A better idea is to implement an Act to stop ALL immigration for at least a decade. That way, A) Islamic immigration would be halted in its tracks without singling them out on religious grounds, which would be very tricky legally; B) our enormous problem of third world NON-Muslim immigration would also be addressed the way it should be.

It's not like we haven't taken drastic measures before .

....and here.

He can to ban Isis immigration. And that requires a careful background check on people desiring to enter the US from all areas where Isis presents a threat. It’s National Security. He HAS THAT POWER under the Patriot Act.

Well, if Mr. Trump can not be criticized or held to account when he runs left here at FR then Jim is welcome to delete my account because I will not abide by those rules. No way, no how.

Holding Trump to account after he is elected is one thing. Working against him and in so doing advancing Hillary’s campaign is another.

"DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT ON PREVENTING MUSLIM IMMIGRATION":

Do you see his site? Do you see it categorized under "POSITIONS"? The answer is no. It was a statement of what PRESENTLY should be done, " Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on. " Further, his site contains categorized areas for 'STATEMENTS' and 'POSITIONS'.

As a private citizen he was asking for same.

Nonsense. Trump needs to be yanked back to the right when he lurches left. You can do that and beat Hillary. The two are not mutually exclusive. Trump reads social media. If enough of his supporters react to his moves to the left he will get the message.

Of course even little school kids used to know that the only “religious test” mentioned in the Constitution is for the Presidency, not immigration. But that was back before the communists took over all the schools.

“Well, if Mr. Trump can not be criticized or held to account when he runs left “

Did you even bother to read the article or are you just so full of piss and vinegar looking for that big gotcha, even a fake one like this, so you can let loose on FR, that you just read the headline, and just went right into ranting?

You aren’t doing anything more than taking swipes at FR and the people here, I guess for not supporting Cruz, using this bogus story, and self-righteous grandstanding, as a cover.

If you can’t think before you type because you are angry over the election results, then by all means go. Dont couch it begin some supposed unfair rule that JimRob as foisted on you.

Reading is hard for the Cruz crew.

Right up there with their understanding that elections should be won with actual voters.

Just depends on how far anti-Trump you go and if your posts encourage others to follow suit. FR is anti-commie, anti-Hillary. Hope you come around. We’d hate to lose you.

We will not allow NeverTrumperism to usher in communism.

As I said, it was not part of his original plan. He brought it out in response to the the Dec 2 Muslim terrorist attack. Will be great if he can make it stick. But as always, as American citizens our primary defense against these bastards is to remain armed and diligent.

Madam Comrade President Hillary not only wants to throw open our borders to all comers, she wants to disarm us.

The choice has never been more stark.

Do you want America to remain a free country or do you want it to be a godless communist hellhole?
