Actually, we have a different problem.

How is it we can have representatives that will do the people’s business, if raising money for office is all they do?

They have a choice of the big donor or the laborious rubber chicken circuit.

No, those are not the only choices: election and campaign reform can be done. It would seem “draconian” but if you eliminate the need for money to campaign, you eliminate the campaigning for donations.

THe first order of business in an Article V is to abolish the congressional pension system then remove the 17th amendment, and then the 16th.
