Cutting entitlements is Ryan’s baby. I’m sure that’s what he really wants Trump to cave on. He’ll negotiate away the other issues but Ryan’s fantasy budgets are based on cutting social security.
Trump should have walked out of the meeting, said he won’t cut Social Security, engage in foolish trade deals, and will go into WI to support Ryano’s intra-party opponent. In one fell swoop, he could have won the election. Holding Ryano’s hand and giving him “time to heal” won’t help.
