I have no doubt that there will be private citizens serving in his administration-he’s already stated that. The question under discussion was his VP pick.

S’gotta be somebody who eight years from now can walk into the WH with a will and a determination to cut government substantially and put it back into it’s constitutional cage.

What a day of rejoicing that will be.

One thing we won’t be hearing is “gravitas”. Trump’s got all the gravitas he needs and the media knows it.

The VP is the biggest job there is.

All this other presidential crap is going to be thrown out in 5 seconds by Trump. If I was Trump Id make a bold move and fire Manafort now or immediately after the convention.

“Considering Trump has already said he wants someone as VP who can get things through Congress, and he wants an insider in contrast to his outsider status, I think that pretty much rules anyone who is NOT a politician out of the running.”

Which of our politicians have shown an ability to get things thru this Congress?

Certainly not our congressional leadership:
not Ryan, not Boehner, not McConnell, not Cruz, not Paul, not Rubio, not McCain, not Sasse, not Ayotte, not Brat.

Well, Trump hasn’t consulted with me regarding the nomination. LOL Just reporting on what he said.

That being said, I don’t think he said it had to be a current pilitician. My personal pick would be Duncan Hunter Jr.

Trump’s biggest vulnerability is in foreign policy.

And that sure as heck doesn't matter. At the right moment he'll hire the TOP experts in the field, they'll reach a consensus on each issue and Trump will act in the way that benefits our nation the most. Period.

The first thing to do is to get a current list of all the members of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission (if that still exists) and make sure none of those comes onto not only any list for the Veep, but also for any list of cabinet members and all of the assistants down at least four levels. We wouldn't have to worry about the Bilderberg group, they're all CEO's and such. They won't go for any sort of flunkie position, including the Veep.

I thought it was Christie who was being tasked with that job .. what happened.

I’ve been busy today; haven’t been watching the news.

Christie was tasked with the transition team, not VP.
